Baby Sister

A beautiful (HOT) day, but some wonderful photos to share from this weekend.  I always forget about this hidden gem, Cypress Grove, but it never disappoints.  Big sister-to-be is adorable...I'm just not sure if it is the curls or smile!  Thanks for spending the morning with us and sticking out the heat and humidity.  Can't wait to meet baby sister!

Kevin and Mary

You may remember Kevin & Mary from my contest last year.
It was a great pleasure to be a part of their special day.  It may have been a small invite list, but you would have never known it.  The friends and family had so much love to share and the dance floor was ALWAYS hot!  It was nearly impossible to identify who was on the bride's side or groom's side.  Everyone just seemed like one big happy family!

Dan & Ashley

It was a great pleasure to get to be a part of Dan and Ashley's beautiful day!  Ashley has been a dear friends for a few years now and it has been really fun to watch Dan pursue her.  It is always a delight to see his face light up when she's around.

Ashley is on a gluten free diet and so am I.  A hidden gem of photographing this wedding, I was able to eat the catered food and the DELICIOUS cake her mother made.

The bride and groom had known each other for several years.  The groom asked the bride for her hand in marriage in the presence of ALL of her friends and family.  Their wedding was beautiful and of course so was the bride!  We had a little run in with the rain while trying to take pictures outside.  Everyone was such good sports and we have some lovely photos to capture the day.

I had the great pleasure of meeting this wonderful couple at the groom's brother's wedding last year. (Guess who caught the bouquet and garter?!?)

Finally Derek asked the question and the celebration was in order!

The setting, timing, and weather were perfect!  (Despite the few rolls of thunder we heard just before the ceremony.)  So many details and heart-filled thoughts made this day a wonderful celebration.

Danny & Beth

Now that I finally delivered the final photos to the newlyweds and their special gift, I can share the rest of the photos for all of you to enjoy.  What is really fun, is to see that these were taken in real time.  It's one of the perks having two photographers from the same company.  Our cameras are set within the second of each other...so you can see exactly what was going on with the girls and the guys and the exact same time.  It truly retells your story over and over again!

View Master 3D

Since this last wedding had EVERY detailed stamped with the couple, I felt like I had to provide the perfect gift for them as I delivered their photos.  I wanted something unique, fun, and that they could enjoy for years to come.  It may not have been quite vintage, but I figured retro was ok for this instance.  We couldn't resist buying one for ourselves to share with others.  (And now the parents are requesting their own.)

Danny & Beth: Preview

Danny & Beth didn't miss a beat!  They had perfectly planned every tiny detail of their day to match their personality.  From the unfinished hem on her dress to the custom glasses to use for drinks and take home as favors, everything had their name written all over it.  Although we hadn't seen rain in weeks, the forecast was not cooperating that morning.  Danny & Beth moved forward as planned and a few sprinkles fell just before she started to walk down the aisle.  All was clear within a few minutes and the overcast skies provided a perfect softbox for photos afterwards.  Here are just a few photos to enjoy while we finish editing.

Europe Overview

For those of you that didn't notice, I was out on vacation.  :)  My husband and I finally made it back to Europe.  We met there nearly 8 years ago, but haven't really been back to the same locations.  We didn't get to visit the place we met (yet), but we did make it back to where he was living at the time and some of our first date locations.

Not only do we love traveling, but we also love a good deal.  Combining these two, creates a pretty big rush for us.  Since we really did't have nice camera equipment back then, we really wanted to capture some of the sites this time around.  I will be posting a series of blogs about our trip.  Itineraries, costs, recommendations, gluten free options, and of course pictures will be included.  This post is big picture and should give you the overall view of our 12 day trip.

(All items listed below include both my husband and I.  Price is our TOTAL cost, not per person.)

10,000 Reasons

We were so honored to be a part of Kendyl and Josh's special day!  Their families have been a part of the same church growing up.  Josh and Kendyl went their separate ways and after both moving 1,000+ miles away, they reconnected and started dating.  It's hard to deny God's perfect design in seeing them draw closer together and more in love with Him along the way.

Kendyl's father was diagnosed with cancer in January. Although the news was not what they wanted, they held on to greater Hope of Jesus.  Josh and Kendyl had "10,000 Reasons" playing during part of their ceremony.  Their parents came together to pray with them and their life ahead as these words played in the background:

And on that day when my strength is failing
The end draws near and my time has come
Still my soul will sing Your praise unending
Ten thousand years and then forevermore

Bless The Lord, O my soul
O my soul
Worship His holy name
Sing like never before
O my soul
I'll worship Your holy name

This was especially true for Kendyl's dad.  I can just imagine him singing his lungs out right now as he stands with Jesus.  You see, eight days after Josh and Kendyl said I do, he lost his battle here on earth and went to be with Jesus.  He walked Kendyl down the aisle.  He prayed. He danced to Butterfly Kisses and had us ALL crying...and laughing.  Most importantly, he shared the love of Jesus up until he passed with his family, friends, coworkers, and strangers.

Kendyl and Josh - thanks so much for allowing us to be a part of your special day.  Our hope is that we have captured some sweet memories of you two, your families, and friends.  We pray that this would be a time to draw you closer to The Lord and celebrate all the He has done.

Dream

These photos are like a dream!  We messed up a few pairs of shoes and faced several types of bug bites and adventures.  However, the outcome made it all worthwhile.  I have now learned to always keep a spare pair of shoes in the car.  Thanks to this lovely couple for being brave, adventurous, and good looking!  I can't wait to photograph their wedding in a few months.
